Privacy Policy

This policy explains how spen.film, the portfolio website of Spencer Foley, collects, uses and protects personal information. The site has no user accounts, contact forms or newsletter, so we collect very little.

Who is responsible

What we collect and why

When you email us: your name, email address and anything you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to work with you, and we never sell or share it for marketing.

When you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics records how the site is used, such as pages viewed, time on page, the referring site, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use these statistics only to understand which work people look at. Nothing is collected for analytics unless you accept.

Every visit: like any website, our hosting provider and the services listed below receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type, which they need to deliver pages, fonts, images and videos to your device.

Cookies and your consent

We use CookieYes to ask for your consent. A necessary cookie (cookieyes-consent) remembers your choice. Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are set only if you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookies link in the footer of every page.

Services we use

Webflow hosts the site. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (Google) provide visitor statistics, only with your consent. CookieYes manages cookie consent. Vimeo plays the videos and may collect data or set cookies when a video loads or plays. Elfsight displays the Instagram feed on the Photography tab and loads its content from Instagram (Meta). Adobe Fonts delivers the typefaces, and jsDelivr delivers a small website script.

Some of these providers process data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, under their own privacy policies. When your information is stored abroad, it may be accessible to authorities in that country under local law.

How long we keep it

Emails are kept for as long as we are in contact or working together, and then deleted when no longer needed. Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR also gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your data, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on your consent for analytics and on our legitimate interest in replying to messages you send us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
